NexKiosk Interac refunds

What’s new in NexKiosk

We have introduced support for Interac card refunds within the NexKiosk app for our Canadian customers.

Currently, operators cannot issue refunds for Canadian Interac debit cards through the Stripe dashboard, as Interac cards operate under specific regional restrictions that prevent standard dashboard-initiated refunds.

To resolve this, we have introduced a dedicated Interac card refund flow within the app using the Stripe Terminal SDK.

 

How it works:

  • To issue an Interac card refund, the operator must instruct the customer to present their physical Interac card directly to the Stripe reader.
  • The NexKiosk app then processes and issues the refund directly through the Stripe Terminal SDK.
  • The app marks the corresponding invoices as refunded on our system, maintaining consistent record-keeping.

Refund flows for other cards

The refund flows for all other credit and debit cards remain exactly the same. No changes have been made to how other cards are handled.
